Ferrari F8 Tributo replaces the 488 GTB
The Ferrari 488 GTB has been manufactured in Maranello since 2015. But that is now over. A few weeks ago the Scuderia presented the F8 Tributo at an exclusive event in South Africa, which will replace the 488 GTB in the future. With a powerful 720 hp, the built-in V8 engine is considered to be the most powerful eight-cylinder engine Ferrari has ever installed in a production model.
Even though the F8 Tributo is the official successor, there are some significant differences to its predecessor at first glance. The LED headlights are clearly flattened and for the most part placed horizontally at the front. Overall, the F8 Tributo looks sportier and more athletic thanks to the new body design. The changes to the rear, on the other hand, only become apparent on closer inspection. While the combination rear lamps are still in the classic design of the eight-cylinder Ferrari, the slitted rear window is particularly striking.
With regard to the performance details, there is also a significant increase compared to the 488 GTB. A full 720 hp provides acceleration from 0 to 200 km/h in just 7.8 seconds.
This makes the F8 Tributo a whole second faster than its predecessor. However, this is not only due to the powerful engine. The development team has succeeded in reducing the total weight by an impressive 40 kilograms, while aerodynamic efficiency has been increased by ten percent.
